23 Arizona GOP lawmakers endorse Trump ahead of state primary

On Tuesday, the Trump campaign announced a slew of endorsements for the 2024 GOP frontrunner by Arizona lawmakers.

Trump received a total of 23 endorsements from these Arizona lawmakers, including 12 Senators and 11 members of the House.

These endorsements include State Senate President Warren Peterson, State Senate Majority Leader Sonny Borrelli, State Senate Majority Whip Sine Kerr, State House Speaker Ben Toma, State House Majority Leader Leo Biasiucci, and State House Majority Whip Teresa Martinez.

The Trump campaign noted several previous endorsements he has received from the state, including Reps. Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, Eli Crane, and Debbie Lesko, as well as Senate Candidate Kari Lake and House candidate Abe Hamadeh.

“President Trump is honored to receive 23 endorsements from Arizona State Senators and Representatives.  These endorsements add to a growing list of conservative leaders from Arizona who support President Trump’s campaign.  Arizona’s Republican Primary is on March 19, and President Trump looks forward to competing for its 43 Delegates to the Republican National Convention,” a press release stated.

According to a RealClearPolitics average of polls, Trump holds a 4.5-point lead over Biden in the state, at 47 to 42.5 percent, respectively. Trump won the state in 2016 but lost in 2020 to Biden by around 10,000 votes.

According to FiveThirtyEight, Trump has a commanding lead in the primary race, with 76.9 percent support compared to Nikki Haley’s 21 percent.
