Jamie Lee Komoroski, a 25-year-old South Carolina woman arrested after allegedly running down a bride on her wedding night with her rented Toyota Camry, said her “whole life was going to be over” following the fatal crash and wondered why “this happened to me” in phone conversations with family as she sat in jail following the incident.
According to the New York Post, which obtained jailhouse recordings, Komoroski was crying when she said to her parents on the phone, “Oh my God. I just can’t believe this happened to me. Why me? I’m going to be here for years and years and years and years.”
She added, “I can’t believe this is my life and my whole life is going to be over.”
Her father told her to “suck it up” and “get tough,” to which she responded, “I can’t. I want it to be over.”
“Like, oh my God, it’s gonna be so bad when I get out. Everyone’s gonna be so mean to me.”
In April, Komoroski was arrested after she allegedly drove her car into a golf cart in which 34-year-old Samantha Hutchinson was riding. Hutchinson was riding in the cart following her wedding reception which took place at Folly Beach. Also inside the cart were Samantha Hutchinson’s husband, Aric Hutchinson, and two others. Aric Hutchinson was injured in the crash and has filed a civil suit against Komoroski.
