On Friday afternoon, an 80-year-old was killed and two others were injured on a San Antonio sidewalk by pit bulls.

According to KSAT, the incident occurred just before 2 pm in the 2800 block of Delpha Street.

San Antonio firefighter who arrived on scene saw the 80-year-old man being dragged on the sidewalk by one of two pit bulls involved in the attack.

SAFD Chief Charles Hood said in a press conference that the ban was “completely bloody” as crews arrived.

“This is not something normal for us. We usually don’t show up and have to defend patients from animals or ourselves,” Hood said.
