Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines emphasized the importance of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” for intelligence agencies during a House Intelligence Committee hearing on March 9, a meeting that was convened to discuss global threats.

Representative Andre Carson raised concerns about workforce development, demanding that Haines and other panelists explain how they plan to ameliorate the underrepresentation of minorities in American intelligence communities.
