BREAKING: Sheriff confirms 'multiple gunshot victims' at Perry High School, 'no further danger' to the public

As the Des Moines Register reports, a first responder told dispatchers there was a “male subject down in the hallway” near Room 308 with a wound that “appears to be self-inflicted.” They were said to have “other victims” as well. Not long after, the first responder claimed the suspect was “down and deceased.”

Streets surrounding the school were blocked off, and a UnityPoint Health LifeFlight helicopter was spotted landing on the grounds.

In a statement to NBC News, Perry Community School District board president Linda Andorf called the incident “horrendously awful.”
