Candice Bergen named interim leader of CPC

Candice Bergen has been the interim leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, following the ousting of Erin O’Toole earlier today.

Conservative MPs took to Twitter after the vote to congratulate Bergen.

“Our great country needs us more than ever as Conservatives to be a strong government-in-waiting. I’m looking forward to working with our new interim Leader @CandiceBergenMP as we hold the Liberals to account and stand up for the interest of all Canadians,” said Member of Parliament for Parry Sound-Muskoka Scott Aitchison.

“Our country is in desperate need of responsible government. Looking forward to working for all Canadians under the steady hand of my friend @CandiceBergenMP and a united @CPC_HQ team,” said rising-star Tory MP Melissa Lantsman.
