Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift has been named as the number one private jet polluter among celebrities, according to a report from the sustainability-driven digital marketing agency Yard.

Despite being a Democratic activist who has lectured others on climate change in her spare time, Swift flew 170 times in the first 200 days of 2022, emitting 8,293.54 metric tons of carbon dioxide, the report states.

“Considering that she is not currently touring, this is a huge amount. Taylor’s average flight time is 80 minutes with an average of 139.36 miles per flight,” Yard researchers report.

Since the beginning of this year, Taylor Swift’s private jet usage amounts to what 1,184 ordinary people would emit in one year.
