George Soros’ Southampton estate was swatted on Saturday, sending police rushing to the left-wing billionaire’s house in the latest fake 911 call.
According to the New York Post, Southampton police received a 911 call shortly before 9 pm on Saturday with the caller reportedly telling officers that he had just shot his wife and was threatening to shoot himself.
Southampton Police Detective Herman Lamison said Monday that the report turned out to be fake.
“Spoke to security, searched the premises. It was [a] negative problem,” one cop responding to the scene said in a recording of police radio traffic obtained by the outlet.
Lamison confirmed that Soros was the owner of the Long Island estate, but it is unclear whether Soros or any family members were home at the time.
The swatting is the latest in a string of swattings to hit high-profile figures and politicians.
Human Events Daily’s host Jack Posobiec and his parents were swatted on Christmas Eve and Christmas, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene was also swatted the two days and her two daughters’ houses were swatted just days prior, and legal scholar and commentator Jonathan Turley was swatted on the Friday before the new year, among other instances of swatting.
