GOP House leadership has released a joint statement slamming the border bill out of the Senate saying that it will “incentivize” illegal immigration. They encouraged the Senate to reject the proposal.

The statement from GOP House Speaker Mike Johson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Whip Tom Emmer, and Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik was released on Monday.

First reported on by Punchbowl News, the statement reads, “House Republicans oppose the Senate immigration bill because it fails in every policy area needed to secure our border and would actually incentivize more illegal immigration.”
