Major US airlines drop mask mandate following judge's ruling against Biden administration

Major US Airline companies dropped the mask mandate on Monday after a federal judge struck down the Biden administration’s mask requirements for public transit.

The following airlines announced that effective immediately masks are optional for all airport employees, crew members and customers inside US airports and onboard aircraft:

Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, JetBlue Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines.

Although the public transport mask mandate has been lifted, face masks may still be required based on local ordinances, or for international flights.
