It was revealed on Wednesday that a plane carrying former President Donald Trump had to make an emergency landing on Saturday evening following a speech he gave at a Republican National Committee-hosted donor retreat in New Orleans.

Two sources familiar with the matter confirmed the emergency landing with Politico.

One of the sources said that the plane had been in the air for no longer than 30 minutes before one of the engines failed, and the pilot decided to turn back to the New Orleans airport.

Trump’s plane had been en route to Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate resides.

“Audio of the communications between the pilot and the air traffic control tower revealed that the landing was described as ’emergency in nature,’ according to the source, who had been briefed on the recording,” Politico reported.
