As the fight against sexualized drag shows and gender transition involving children continues, the Texas legislature has proposed several new bills in an effort to fight back against child gender transition surgery, biological men competing in women’s sports, and “gender identity” education being taught in schools throughout Texas.

With the constant outpouring of news that makes it seem like the trans agenda is winning, here are some of the top ways the Texas legislature is pushing back against the trans agenda targeted toward women and children. 

This past week, the Texas Capitol building was protested by a large gathering of trans youth pushing back against Senate Bill 14 (SB14) and companion bill HB1686. SB14 and HB1686 aim to prohibit puberty blockers, hormones, and gender transition surgery for Texas children under the age of 18. SB14 would also halt public funding of the hospitals that provide these surgeries and medications. 

Per the Texas Tribune, “Sen. Donna Campbell, R-New Braunfels, amended the bill to allow children who are receiving puberty blockers and hormone therapies by early June to continue such treatments if the bill is signed into law and takes effect.”

Biological men competing in women’s sports has also become a rising issue, as female athletes point out the physical and biological advantages transgender women have over them.
