“Thank God the judge is okay,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said in a statement, per News8. “Thank God for the heroic efforts of those who came to her aid, especially her marshal and her law clerk. Without them, the situation would have been much worse as this defendant exhibited extremely violent behavior and I’m confident there will be consequences.”
Redden was subsequently hit with a slew of charges, including battery and battery on a protected person, and returned to the Clark County jail.
In November, he pleaded guilty to attempted battery with substantial bodily harm for threatening to “bust the kneecaps” of another man. He had been ordered by a different judge to undergo a competency exam, but was found to be fit in October.
He was also previously charged with malicious destruction of property and served a year in prison for domestic battery.
