2024 GOP frontrunner and former President Donald Trump is reportedly under consideration by allies and aides to deliver the Republican response to Biden’s March 7 State of the Union address.

Two sources familiar with talks told NBC News that Trump himself has discussed the matter, but they said Trump is leaning against doing the speech.

Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have the final say in who will deliver the address.

One source familiar with the planning of the State of the Union address told the outlet that the Trump campaign has not reached out to those planning the GOP rebuttal.

One senior Trump aide said “there are no plans at this time” for Trump to deliver the response.

Trump campaign senior advisor Jason Miller told NBC News, “This is complete bullsh*t, and proves the fake news will literally run anything based on their own imaginations.”

At least one ally on Capitol Hill though said she would love for Trump to deliver the address.
